Hauntings Notes
In Volume 8, Issue 2 (summer 2005) of the Hauntings Notes newsletter is a piece titled “Lizzie Borden Secrets Unlocked.” Download the PDF of the issue here.
The story details the filming of the segment on the house for Fangoria TV’s Ghost Stories. It talks about the large number of EVPs (electronic voice phenomena) they picked up in their two days at the house.
What confounds me is this part of the story:
“What was very interesting was the fact that, later that evening we did our first EVP (electronic voice phenomena) session in this room and immediately got a female voice stating ‘Church has ‘em’.†It would come out later during the investigationthat there was apparently some information shared by Lizzie with the Rector of the nearby Catholic Cathedral of St. Mary, Rev. James Cassidy, regarding her true involvement in the crime. This was of course unknown to the team at the time. Was this ghostly voice hinting that there was indeed a connection between Lizzie and the murders and that she had confessed to the crime during this impromptu meeting with Rev. Cassidy in the summer of 1927 just days before her death?
Huh? Who told them this? Lu-cy. You’ve got some ‘splainin’ to do!
