Woman robbed while visiting mother’s grave in Fall River
FALL RIVER, Mass., – (WPRI) – A 53-year old woman is robbed at a Fall River cemetary, while visiting the gravesite of her mother, who had been buried the day before.
The Oak Grove Cemetary in Fall River is typically a quiet, serene setting where mourners can pay their respects in peace. But on Wednesday when Judy, who did not want her full name mentioned, sat at her mother’s gravesite that’s when the robber struck.
Judy says, she heard a twig snap behind her, then a man ran up from behind her, grabbed her purse and fled in a dark colored sedan. The suspect stole her purse with the cash and credit cards inside.
Days later she received a call from a Fall River Walmart that her purse had been found with the cash gone but her id and cards still inside. Judy says she still can’t believe someone could go thru with such an uncompassionate crime.
Police are now looking at the surveillance video from Walmart to try and identify the suspect who took her purse.
