O, I am Lizzie Borden,
\n<\/span>(All Fall River knows my name)\u00a0<\/span>
\n\u2018Tho to me it is a mystery that
\n<\/span>I should have gained such fame.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

That I, a simple spinster girl
\n<\/span>(Just more than thirty-two)
\n<\/span>Should be so despised and so reviled
\n<\/span>Is simply beyond comprehension
\n<\/span>And drives my poor mind wild!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Some would deem me \u201cmurd\u2019rous fiend,\u201d
\n<\/span>Others \u201cLamb sent to her slaughter\u201d \u2013
\n<\/span>But one thing\u2019s uncontested:
\n<\/span>I was Andrew Borden\u2019s daughter!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What bothers me most is these children
\n<\/span>And their drotted infernal rhyme.\u00a0<\/span>
\nIt seems to me (and some might agree)
\n<\/span>There\u2019re better ways to pass the time!
\n<\/span>But it\u2019s lived on it seems \u2013
\n<\/span>None other I fear will match it.
\n<\/span>I do wish they\u2019d got the weapon right, tho \u2013
\n<\/span>We all know it was a Hatchet!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But they cannot outdo my neighbors:
\n<\/span>To them the jury\u2019s verdict be
\n<\/span>Not worth the tinker\u2019s curse.
\n<\/span>Why, to this day
\n<\/span>I\u2019ll wager they\u2019d say
\n<\/span>I did it for Father\u2019s purse!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

O Father, my dear father,
\n<\/span>He\u2019d mutter: \u201cBridget\u2026the mutton \u2013 boil it!\u201d
\n<\/span>While ladies three (and Maggie, bless me!)
\n<\/span>Did wish for a proper flush toilet.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In time, oh yes I showed them \u2013
\n<\/span>And why apologize?
\n<\/span>I\u2019ve all the things good fortune brings,
\n<\/span>And I have them before their eyes!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve shown them \u2013 shown them all you see \u2013
\n<\/span>And most are truly vexed; they sit around a\u2019wondering
\n<\/span>What Miss Borden will do next!
\n<\/span>Change it? Oh no, I\u2019d have it no other way.
\n<\/span>I\u2019ve been the center of attention
\n<\/span>From then up to this day!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I was Andrew Borden\u2019s daughter,
\n<\/span>All the world now knows my fame\u2026
\n<\/span>Did I? Oh, you\u2019ll never know \u2013
\n<\/span>You see, that\u2019s part of the game!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

They didn\u2019t get me then you see,
\n<\/span>And haven\u2019t got me yet;
\n<\/span>I\u2019ve vexed them all – it\u2019s true;
\n<\/span>And just as I\u2019ve vexed the neighbors,
