\nA quiet knock upon the door,<\/span><\/p>\n

The silky rustling of a skirt,<\/span><\/p>\n

Hiding her face behind her fan,<\/span><\/p>\n

With a subtle Victorian flirt,<\/span><\/p>\n

She curtsies to the caller,<\/span><\/p>\n

He bows as a gentleman might,<\/span><\/p>\n

Then takes her hand in his,<\/span><\/p>\n

Such a quaint Victorian sight,<\/span><\/p>\n

A look passes between them,<\/span><\/p>\n

With no words needed to convey,<\/span><\/p>\n

What lay foremost on their minds,<\/span><\/p>\n

So she turns to lead the way,<\/span><\/p>\n

A simple nod toward the stairway,<\/span><\/p>\n

Gives a messege loud and clear,<\/span><\/p>\n

There can be no turning back,<\/span><\/p>\n

They must move ahead from here,<\/span><\/p>\n

Silent footsteps on the carpet,<\/span><\/p>\n

Drawing nearer to the place,<\/span><\/p>\n

Where the end would finally meet,<\/span><\/p>\n

That sleeping upturned face,<\/span><\/p>\n

He stealths into the doorway,<\/span><\/p>\n

To forever put out Andrew\u2019s light.<\/span><\/p>\n

Raises the axe before him,<\/span><\/p>\n

She hangs back from the sight,<\/span><\/p>\n

When the grisly deed is done,<\/span><\/p>\n

She calmly leads him to the door,<\/span><\/p>\n

He steps out and into history,<\/span><\/p>\n
