\nI watch tears of fruit<\/span><\/p>\n

swing by the skin<\/span><\/p>\n

how easy life ends<\/span><\/p>\n

with no forgiveness of sin<\/span><\/p>\n

ripe without pigment<\/span><\/p>\n

with life\u2019s sweetness shaved thin.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take my seat by the barn<\/span><\/p>\n

my back rubs the wall<\/span><\/p>\n

bleeding chips of red paint<\/span><\/p>\n

on my shoulder they fall<\/span><\/p>\n

with a fury and wrath<\/span><\/p>\n

I can no longer forestall.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pears tumble to earth<\/span><\/p>\n

and pepper the ground<\/span><\/p>\n

19 do I count<\/span><\/p>\n

with laughter well found<\/span><\/p>\n

while she falls on her face<\/span><\/p>\n

without making a sound.<\/span><\/p>\n

On a hot August day<\/span><\/p>\n

I wax with disdain<\/span><\/p>\n

awaiting the scythe<\/span><\/p>\n

where 10 pears remain<\/span><\/p>\n

to rot on the vine<\/span><\/p>\n

with my anguish and pain.<\/span><\/p>\n

With a covet for life<\/span><\/p>\n

I wish them to pay<\/span><\/p>\n

thus, Pear after Pear<\/span><\/p>\n

drop where they lay<\/span><\/p>\n

I brush clean my shoulder<\/span><\/p>\n

the last Pear falls away<\/span><\/p>\n

by the naked pear tree<\/span><\/p>\n
