Must be an "orb". I was with you when you took those photos and I can't recall seeing anything riveted to the bottom of the tank. I have looked at it several times since and nothing is on the bottom. I asked a visiting plumber about the box a few months ago and he couldn't figure it out either.

I was alone in the room when I took those photos.
Everyone had gone downstairs or outside, maybe to the barn/gift shop. I was late coming down when I had that room. I stood on a chair to get those. I do have a few pictures of the tank from other visits tho- maybe that is what you remember - but they were not as good as these. I really took my time with these.
I remember I had invited Doug and Marilou over to the House, with Lee-ann's permission and they came later and he was also interested in standing on the chair to look in there. I thought that was rather intrepid of him.

He's the one who would always take me up on investigating the House or cellar. He and Marilou are good sports. Of course you have taken good care of them whilst they have waited on our arrival. You are a very good Hostess.

That reminds me- the cellar: I used to be drawn to the cellar but not anymore. I even wrote a
Hatchet installment article on the cellar, with floorplan and points of historical interest in there, in the past.
But the whole last year- in May and in August, I could barely go down there. I went to show someone who asked specifically about where the luminol testing had been done (from the documentary), and I went down with Jay, (dasdeboot) who, even tho he tests for EVP down there, he said he doesn't like it down there either.
The past year I would only go down for a roll of TP or a bottle of water (once Lee-ann said I could get that from there). And then I'd come right back up again. Richard and I did go down and help Lee-ann unload her car of supplies one night- and that was the first time I actually used the cellar steps to the outside. That impressed me- that I was doing that- I mean I marked it in my memory as something I had not ever done before. But otherwise, no cellar for me anymore. I have no interest in that anymore. I don't know why.

Has anyone been turned off by the cellar, lately?
