Jeepers Fargo, that's a good question!
Someone I know has been asking me that rhetorically, every year!

Again today, as every August 4th I've been very wakeful and couldn't sleep. Again, at these fateful hours of 9 and 11, I am stopping to think about these murderous deeds.

This morning I was wondering, what if Morse, Bridget and Lizzie were lying, how early could Abbie have been killed?

And then, if only Bridget and Lizzie were lying, how early Abbie could have been killed?

Bridget probably didn't have time to run to the dress good sale. Let's say she had been feeling great, and wandered to town to buy a dress, rushed back to fix lunch, Lizzie would have had a lot of explaining to do. Abby was expected "back" from her outing, and Andrew showed up home early. It makes me wonder if Lizzie had plan A, B, C, D. I can see Lizzie walking to town with Bridget to buy a dress, and rushing back, but Andrew would still be alive, and may have discovered Abby's body. The "What if" list is growing. This crime never runs out of twists.
