It should be possible that Morse committed some imprudence, and then, he realized it and tried to deny it. But if Davis killed Andrew and then informed Morse by phone, Morse's imprudence (his mention of having received a call to the newspapers) seems to me a little too big. I think more probable something like his "what (?)" pronounced to Mrs. Churchill when he heard for the third time the murder news; or his remainging a few minutes outside the house after being told the news, or his testimony in the wiiteness statement: saw a number of persons around the house, and was told, etc.: a number of "slight" imprudence betrayed him, in my opinion.
