Who is Iggy Wolfington, and what does he have to do with the Borden case?
Ignatius ("Iggy") Wolfington was born ca. 1920 in Philadelphia and died in California on September 30, 2004. He had a long and varied acting career, spanning several media and many roles. He was nominated for a Tony award for his portrayal of Professor Harold Hill's sidekick in "The Music Man" (1958-59) and also participated in a revival of that musical in 1980. He appeared in many television series, including "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "That Girl" and "Punky Brewster." Wolfington was a decorated veteran of World War II, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was also recognized by his fellow actors for his contributions to the Screen Actors' Guild (SAG) and the Actors' Fund.
--And he appeared as the shop proprietor in "The Legend of Lizzie Borden," a production exceptionally rich in marvelous, unsung actors who labored in minor roles. It is he who tells Gloria Stuart that she needn't worry about Lizzie's shoplifting, because "old man Borden" always pays the bills.
