Very nice, Tracy. Are you watering or are you getting enough rain? Everything looks pretty lush and green.
Except for a ten-minute downpour on Saturday afternoon, we haven't had rain in weeks. (And the Saturday rain basically bounced off the hard, dry ground and ran off down the streets.) Toasted lawns. Gasping plants.
Last week I had to plant a blueberry bush that Emily got for her birthday, so that's been getting watered. Unfortunately I have to let almost everything else fend for itself.

Thanks Chris.
I do lightly water the flowers and veggies around the porch, and my peach & pear trees about every other day, but the grass only gets a drink about once a week, at night...for about 45 minutes. The pear tree and the peach tree (no peach pictures) are brand new this year, so I figure whatever fruit I get from them in this first season, is bonus.
I water less than most of my neighbors. Being out here in 'the desert', I would like to someday have a xeriscaped yard...all locally native plants. It is pricey to get started, but is very 'water-wise' after that.

Oh that is so nice- the before and after pictures! That meant you planned this out, like you planned your garden.
Your squash look great. And your pear.
My girlfrind started a garden this year (at the coast) but June rained out her tomatoes.
Thanks Tracy!
It usually is raining here twice a week- on my watering days believe it or not! Thursdays and Sundays- Yay!

Actually the picture thing was not planned. I just decided the other day that since I had some pictures of 'the beginning'...I should take more...and compare the differences. I mean I knew things were growing, but when I saw the pictures side by side...I thought...WOW. I think next year I should take 'weekly' pictures....and then make a little flip book...LOL.
I feel bad that the pumpkins were a bust this year. Oh well, I am already thinking of what to do for next summer. I would make my whole front yard into a garden if I could.
