Here's a different kind of ghost story...

It's been around since his monument was erected.

All the discussion about the Borden's grave stones reminded me of this.

People have been telling stories about Mr. Zettick since the 1920s or 30s. If you are walking through the Rural Cemetery at dusk, on your way home from work, Mr. Zettick will greet you and ask you how your day has gone. It's only when he returns to his pedestal that people realize he is not real.

There was a time when there was a bench near him, and he would frequently go and sit along side anyone who sat there alone.

His monument is supposed to be an exact replica of the man in life.

In the morning I've heard he just tips his hat to passers-by.

Boy that statue looks real!
It reminds me of those Candid Camera escapades where the statue is a real person waiting to freak you out! :shock:

Thanks for this one! My great grandparents are buried in Rural Cemetery.
I think I'll plan a visit for dusk sometime!
