Take this Pre-School test to see how well you observe:
Look carefully at the picture.
In which direction is the bus pictured below traveling? The only possible answers are "left" and "right. And why do you think that?
I'll tell you the answer later.

Okay... I'm choosing left, mainly because it appears to me that the left side of the drawing is just a bit out of proportion as compared to the right side - and as buses go (buses of this particular type anyway) the front is more likely to stick out than the rear.

Harry, is this an American school bus or a British school bus?

American. Like a school bus.

Since the doors on school busses are on the right side, I'll say that it's going left.

HOORAY FOR ELIZABELLE!!!
Good detective work. That's the correct answer and reason. Since you can't see the door it must be on the other side and it would be on the right side of the bus.
Something tells me Diana was close too.
This simple little puzzle teaches that you should not only look for what is there, but for what is not there or should be there.

Okay, but why isn't it backing up?

No, it's a normal assumption that the bus is going forward.
A friend sent it to me and said it was actually asked of pre-school children and some of them got it right!

Hmmm...I think Chris has a point ! It is normal for buses to go backward occaisionally. I wonder what it means if we want to consider the backward thing ? Ask your friend, Harry ?

Yea, so where's all the thick, black smoke? All buses smoke like smudge pots. Ever drive behind one?

YAY Elizabelle!

I thought Left but didn't know why.
Your reason was good!
Hey Har!-As for
Pre-school, if they've never ridden a bus, how would they know what side the door was on?

I thought the answer was related to what handedness you were. If you chose right it was that you were predominantly right handed, etc. I am really impressed with Elizabelle! Wow! I guess I have to go back to pre-school!
