Here is the real photo post card that I referred to in another thread. It is postmarked Fall River, September 29, 1911, and sent to a young lady in New Hampshire. There is a message thanking the young lady for her "postal", and signed MLB.
Can anyone identify the house shown? Thanks.

Thanks for the post stuart. The house looks big enough to be a resort.
I did a quick look through of the last two volumes of Victorian Vistas and did not see anything similar.
I also looked to see if there was a "M. L. Brayton" or "M. L. Borden" but no luck.

Maybe MLB is Major League Baseball?
Yes, I think it looks like a house in the country rather than in the city. Love the stone wall!
Maybe an old folks home? Or hotel?

Thanks, Harry and mbhenty, for the info. I had a feeling it might be up in the Highland Avenue area, as I remember seeing that sort of stone wall up there.
I'm just sorry that the initials aren't ELB...but even if they were, I know it isn't Emma's handwriting.

What an absolutely gorgeous home.
Now...they don't make 'em like that anymore!

Thanks very much, mbhenty! You're right, they do bear a strong resemblence to one another. I can see why you thought this was the place.

Maybe the building was not in the city of Fall River, but on the outskirts. It looks much too big to be a house. The many windows on the front make me think of a hotel or an old age home. I don't recall seeing a house like this in FR. It might even be from another nearby town, but mailed in FR. It's a great building. I would think 'public' and consult area historical societies. You might have like the only photo of something very historical. I'd keep digging.
