Borden break in

I was reading about the break in at the Borden's house a year earlier and the possible reasons that Lizzie may have had in doing it, if she was responsible for it. Maybe it wasn't a complicated reason at all, but just a manipulation on Lizzie's part to make her father think the neighborhood was becoming unsafe and he should reconsider moving. Well never know--just a thought.

It could also have been a test by Lizzie to see if she was beyond reproach.

Or maybe, as Brown suggests, and earlier secret meeting in the barn led Willy to demonstrate his hatred?
Have you never experienced something like this where somebody gets even by destroying property?

Lizzie may have staged the break-in to create a "history" of break-ins so when the killings took place she could say someone was after her father. There would be a track record that would point the finger away from Lizzie.
