I happened across the episode guide to Crossing Jordan and found this...

"LOVES ME NOT
10pm 2006-06-25

A SNOWSTORM TRAPS WOODY AND JORDAN IN A 'HAUNTED' BED AND BREAKFAST -- Jordan (Jill Hennessy) and Woody (Jerry O'Connell) are called to investigate a mysterious murder at a quaint bed and breakfast, it isn't long before the 100 year-old crime that made the house infamous is revealed. A sudden snow storm traps the crime fighting duo and it is hard to distinguish the facts from the legends as a local cop, the hotel caretaker, the current proprietor and several ghost chasing guests all become possible suspects. Meanwhile, back at the morgue, old feelings resurface and Bug (Ravi Kapoor) becomes jealous when Lily (Kathryn Hahn) announces that she has a date. Miguel Ferrer and Steve Valentine also star. TV-14 S"

For those that don't watch the show, it takes place in and around Boston.

Story line sounds awfully familiar...

Guess we're going to have to wait til June 25 to find out if the 100-year-old crime involves "an axe."

Thanks for the tip!
I love that show and have not missed an episode. I wonder why that late in June they are showing a new segment?
Sounds good tho! That's a talented cast.

You're welcome...:) I just happen to be looking up something about an episode from 2 seasons back when I saw the info...

I didn't start watching it till season 3 so I'm catching up on all the back episodes on A&E and USA channels. I'm hooked...

I am not a constant viewer of this show, which can be interesting (depends on the skills and talent of the writer).
I remember tuning in a few months ago and seeing part of this very same show, which takes place when they are stranded in a snow storm.

That story was suposed to take place here at the B&B in Fall River. An executive called me last year to ask permission to use the B&B in the episode. I gave them permission and never heard back from them. Six months later I saw the show.....took place at the 'Lucy Carver Inn' and standing the the foyer, a woman in victorian dress weilding an axe. They do 'mention' the B&B. If you watch the episode, check out the guest room with all the axes on the wall.

I will be watching....

The definition of success is reining in costs. A set on the back lot is a lot cheaper than an actual location.
Wasn't Uncle John omittted from that 1974 version w. Liz Montgomery? To cut back on costs, its entertainment not history.

I think success would be "in the eye of the beholder". Some may think that shelling out a few more dollars and not being a cheapskate would better define success and quality for them. Others may feel like quantity is more of their goal.

I assume then that the "Lucy Carver Inn" is a fictional location? Forgive my ignorance, I know little about that area. The way I took Lee-ann's post was that the Lucy Carver Inn was a real location, and that they had picked that location over the B&B....

My Dear Colleague:
Everything you see on TV is mostly show business. Even news clips are edited and selected to make a point.
And when it comes to drama, there is no limit (except costs) on what may be shown.
Just put a slogan on your TV: "Its only a movie".

Michele,

I hope you don't let RayS discourage you in any way. I had the same thought as you at first, but when I tried to google up the Lucy Carver Inn...nothing. Keep asking and investigating as you have been. I am glad you are one of our new members.

Ray...you are officially relieved of your Welcome Wagon duties.

Thank you Tracy, but not to worry...it would take a whole lot more than that to discourage me...Much more...

My Dear RayS,

Anyone over the age of puberty is well aware that 99.99% of TV is fictional...pumped up...show business BS including what passes for "real life"...and I'm certainly intelligent enough to remember that without the need of a post-it note in the middle of my screen that says "it's only a movie"...

What I can't understand, however, is what did your comment have to do with my question?

And the correct word would be "reining," as in "reining" in costs, Professor.

I love the sound-alike "Lucy" for "Lizzie," not to mention the pun on "Carver."

In the film STRAIT-JACKET, the Lizzie-like character (played by Joan Crawford) who hacks off the heads of her husband and his girlfriend is named "Lucy Harbin." The screenplay was written by novelist Robert Bloch, who wrote PSYCHO, and a dandy little short story concerning the Borden crimes, too.

You know that Lucille Ball, because of her success as "Lucy Ricardo," always made sure her characters' names contained the letters C, A, and R. She was Lucy Ricardo/Carmichael/Carter/Barker in her four sitcoms, but never "Lucy Carver!"

Its not my job to correct your glaring mistakes. Everyone else knows that "Psycho" was written about Ed Gein, the 1956 serial murderer from the sand country of Wisconsin. You can look it up.

Bob is correct.

Thanks for the back-up!

Professor, I know so much about PSYCHO and how it was based on the Ed Gein case it would make your head spin. More to the point, though: using "reign" for "rein" would be an example of a "glaring error," wouldn't it?

In other words, like all bullies, you can dish it out, but you can't take it.
