Those Poker Chips on Ebay

If I could buy a set of 20 of them for even $30-40 I would buy it and send one of them out to a bunch of you.... Kinda like a secret Santa sort of thing...
But no way are they worth $3.99 for one!

It says they are poker chip card protectors...I know what a poker chip is...because Audrey (French Poker Champion) told me. But, what is a card protector ? Cards need "protecting" ?

The seller that is selling the Lizzie Poker chips on ebay deals in that sort of stuff, so Lizzie is not the only one. Along with Lizzie you can get

after a closer look.... maybe it's a regular chip and Lizzie's photo and that axe graphic are on the protector?
Mon Dieu.... Lizzie wold faint dead away if she knew she was someday to be on a poker chip!
She might have liked Poker-- but I bet she would have cheated!

I think you are right about needing protection. Everytime I bid on eBay I feel I have to put on a chastity belt.
If you buy enough of those chips, Audrey, maybe we could all go to Vegas?!

I picture a card protector as a chip you put on your cards when they are face down and not in your hand. Maybe while you are waiting for others to bet and receive a card. You don't hold your cards all the time. You might cover them too if you were playing 21 or Black Jack or 5 Card Draw, as a sign you want no cards dealt to you while you await the play coming back to you. Standing "Pat" I think. Covering your cards might also be a bluff, implying you'd take no more cards, but you could change your mind when it's your turn.

You are absolutely correct Kat! That is exactly what a protector is for, although the chip they show could be used as either a chip or a holder. 11.5g on a chip is okay but I prefer a 14g myself.

I've never used one, but I'm glad to see I figured it out!
With the Texas Hold'um game so popular now, I guess more and more people are being exposed to poker via TV.
My favorite games have been 21, and 5 card draw.
We've been playing poker as a family for 40 years!

According to Walter Sattherwaite's (sp?) book "Miss Lizzie", Lizzie smoked cigars and played cards in her old age.
Homer chips, huh? ....
