"Sayings"

I ran across a "Saying" in an excerpt I read from "A New England Sampler" by Eleanor Early, 1940, pg. xi.

It's called "an Old Yankee Motto that Coolidge used to quote":

Clean your plate - Wear it out -
Make it do - Go without.

I got another one in a mailer today, by Muhammad Ali:

If they can make penicillin out of moldy bread, they can make something out of You."

I've always liked this one by Yogi Berra, who was known for saying things like this:

"If you come to a fork in the road, take it."
