Last night three delightful gals decided to have a joke on the rest of us and arranged Miss Lizzie before the tour. in her bed awaiting the guests. The head was on an old paint stick, her "belle poitrine" was a well-padded Unmentionable and pillows filled out her shapely form. Oh the shrieks! From the front hall upstairs it looked pretty lifelike in dim light.

Love it! That's hilarious.

Oh! that's great!!! I can hear the screams from here!!!!

Waking up with Lizzie on your pillow?- MMM- maybe not such a great idea. I thought I might try this same idea with Abby and Andrw in their bed this weekend.

OHHHH I think that is a marvelous idea. Maybe Bridget pillow cases for the attic and Uncle John pillowcases for the guest room.
So what fun things are going on at the House this weekend?

Tomorrow night is a full house so it looks like the hayloft for me. The most rewarding part of working there is never really knowing what the night will be like- it all depends on the group and the mix of people. The weather is supposed to be really pleasant (low 60's) and if it is anything like today, perhaps a walking tour around town can be managed, with a trip to Oak Grove.

Sometimes we all send out for pizza at 11 p.m.(and Domino's just loves to deliver at #92 "Are you going to slice it with a hatchet") and watch the Montgomery movie or documentaries, some nights it is a round of discussion on theories, exploration of the cellar, re-creation of possible scenarios, and other times (especially rainy or snowy nights) telling ghost stories by the light of the parlor lamps. Everybody has a story to tell, and every week it's new people and new faces. Not many jobs would bring such a diversity of people into one's life. Last week the young honeymoon couple from 2 years ago returned ( as many guests do)-they are both morticians and had just graduated from funeral director school when I first met them.

Not long ago two reporters from Italy arrived to do a travel feature on Lizzie-they spoke nearly NO English, but with my 2 years of college Italian (from 30 years ago!!), hand signals, and a lot of good humor, I gave them a private tour, we all became great buddies (and Francesco was soooo good-looking!). Did you know Italian for hatchet is "hacetta"? They loved the story and the house-and yes, both were convinced Lizzie did it. Francesco said it was a crime of passion and did not seem at all surprised that well-bred Sunday school and churchladies could be so hot-blooded (or cold blooded).

So, I won't know until 4 p.m. what it will be like, but it is always fun and always an adventure. Any really funny things I post under Second Street Tidbits. I am anxious to find out how the bookreading with Ms. Chaney went last Sunday.

Thanks I love hearing your house stories. Also was wondering if pizza could be delivered at the house, so cleared that up for me too. Have never stayed in a B and B so will be an all new experience for me.

I forgot to mention Len Rebello came to my aid and took the two Italians to Oak Grove and to see Maplecroft- he became "Leonardo"- and Rebello was so Italian -sounding,it was great hearing them say it. Of course they make everything sound like Grand Opera. Even Lizzie came out "Lee-zi Bordano" By the way- could Francesco ever sing! We had a chorus of Ritorna me, caro mio ti amo in the parking lot before he left! I wish I could have been there to hear Len explain things to them in the cemetery! Ciao Bello!

You know you have way to much fun for one person.
Was sitting here thinking, oh how Lizzie would probably love all the happenings at her old house now.
