I'm also an addict for film history. My favorite is silent film comedy, especially Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. I like history, especially British and American, philosophy, literature (both modern and post modern), experimental music and jazz, documentary films and computer programming.

On the weekends I love to go into either New York or Philadelphia and look at all the old buildings, see an off-Broadway play, or watch indy films at either the Ritz or the Angelika, visit friends and go to a few art museums (next weekend I'm off to see an exhibit of comic book art in Newark -- original art work by Jack Kirby, R. Crumb, and E.C. Segar (Popeye)).

I guess the bottom line is that I love to read and watch movies! I also write an awful lot of fiction and build web sites.

Bodybuilding, Kid's books (don't laugh), Sherlock Holmes, mountain adventures, sailing stories, biographies, silent movies, stock trading, painting portraits, JFK, cooking, eating, murder mysteries, collecting old photos of my skating friend, wood working, building engines.

I just wish I had time for them all.

I love mucking about with computers, baking, making beaded jewelry, reading, horror movies of all kinds but mostly zombie flicks, ghostly things, medieval history and ren faires. There's lots more but I don't want to bore you all. Mostly, though, I really enjoy spending time with the people I love and care about.

Lolly

p.s. Oh yeah, and alien conspiracy theories, too! :alien:

Kashesan, that's the funniest autobiography title I've ever heard. The next funniest is Bruce Campbell's If Chins Could Kill.

Ravenway, what alien conspiracy theories? I just read a few books on Roswell and a refutation of Erich Von Daniken called "Crash Go The Chariots"

Many thanks Richard-I must bow, however, to Mr Campbell's title. I shall have to work even harder now.

I am also a Civil War follower...and a follwoer of the Titanic.

True crime in general --- but especially Lizzie Borden and Jack the Ripper.

There is a case I have been involved in/following for many years... the West Memphis 3 case, in which 3 teens were convicted of a triple child murder with dubious evidence (at best)... and... new DNA analysis has just been completed (14 years after the crime). There is fascinating and, I think, excellent news. None of the DNA matches any of the 3 in prison, but a hair in the bindings of one of the victims has been traced to anothers victim's step father. There is much going on in this case now, and I hope the truth will out.

Yooper, I just noticed that you like Mathematics. Have you ever read "The Advent of The Algorithm" by David Berlinski? It is the history of the Algorithm written in a some what humorous manner. Have you ever studied Celestial Mechanics? I had a book on that subject but I don't have a clue on where it is. I've always liked math but never had much time for it till now.
