In Fairhaven we have five Civil War cannon pointing over the New Bedford harbor from Fort Phoenix. At our Independence Day celebrations for the last few years we've fired them. Last September I got my Massachusetts Cannon/Mortar Firing License, so I'm now qualified to fire them myself.

We'll be doing that Monday morning, weather permitting. (Because of various church services on Sunday morning, we've had to schedule our parade for the 5th.)

 That's incredible! You have a CANNON Firing License!? Have you been re-incarnated?

You're welcome you guys!

Har, I had so many rockets going off at once there was no black sky left! Everything in excess- that's my motto!
(Well, temporarily)

My friends I went to a little town about 2 hours away from where I live, called Wendover. It is right on the border of Utah and Nevada. Half the town has legalized gambling...half of the town does not. We went to the DOES part. Won a few dollars...lost a few. Nice rooms are VERY cheap. Drinks are free...when you are playing. It was a fun girls-night-out-and-go-shopping-all-day-the-next-day trip !!

That sounds like fun!
Hope you won or broke even!
2 hours away means 2 hours back but you've been gone a long time, it seems!

Well, I spent from Monday untill we left on Wednesday getting things ready around the house...making sure my mom would check on the dogs and all the pre-trip kind of stuff. I have also been spending a bit of time getting some Lizzie things on Ebay the past few weeks. It takes a while for us school teachers to get real life things caught up so we can enjoy what's left of the summer...LOL. Now Monday I will start taking a class I have to take for another teacher certification thing I need/want to get. There is never just "nothing" to do. There's always something it seems. I want to devote a lot of my time to reading up on the details of the Lizzie case. I don't know enough about it yet. So many books, so little time.

Hi Alice!

Yes Lizzie's Independence Day was August 4th.
Tomorrow is Morse's Birthday!

I was trying to watch an American Justice tape on Sam Sheppard only to find out my VCR was fried in the same electrical storm which got my DSL Modem. Anyway- coincidence-- I saw enough of the tape to realize that crime happened on July 4th. today.

There was just a triple sonic boom!
I'm not expecting any space debris tonight--is anyone?
