Lizzie Borden Society Forum

I am interested to know out there, if you could spend some time with Miss Lizzie, what are some questions you would ask her? The obvious question aside, I would really like to see what everyone out there might ask her. Please either reply to my post or send a PM or email.

I am very much interested in the books that Lizzie read. I guess my first question would be, "Who were your favorite authors?" Followed by, "What was your favorite book?

What I would ask Lizzie is relatively straightforward: What did you do with the bloody dress? What was the murder weapon? What did you do with the murder weapon?

"What would you have done differently in your life, knowing what you now know?"

This is a generic question.

I am with William 100% on this one. I would want to know what books she has in her library.

I would also like to know more about her religious beliefs too.

I would ask her what her favorite travel destinations were (and why). I'd also ask her what plays she had seen on her trips to Boston, and which she liked best. I'd also ask her what her favorite music was, and for her favorite recipe!

I would ask her to tell me everything about her sister, Emma.

I would ask her what kind of rod, line test, hooks and sinkers she prefers.

I would also ask her why she took a liking to that local boy and did she want children of her own.

This question has come up before, and I would ask her if she ever had sex?

It would be the boy that Radin said Lizzie invited into her car and gave gifts to. I wonder, if that was true or even if it wasn't, if Lizzie had any maternal feelings, if she regreted never having children. Perhaps Lizzie's interest in that boy was the result of her own desire for children. Maybe Lizzie was not such a cold, hard nut afterall.

That is the child at the Hornbine school!
I didn't hear of her bringing him into her car tho.
I recently saw a news item on that.

How come we don't hear stories of things Lizzie did for little girls? I was wondering about that.

Scott, would you really ask that of Lizzie? I wouldn't even ask my own mother that!

"Local Lizzie Borden historian Deborah J. Shannon states 'records show that police investigators came to the farm to search for the murder weapon, the infamous ax, the day after the crime.

'It is also said,' Ms. shannon stated, 'that each September, Lizbeth Borden would visit a small boy who attended the Horbine School. She would bring him clothes, shoes and money."

That is the boy, Kat. I believe it was in Radin's book that says Lizzie invited him into her car to talk and hand him the gifts.

Lizzie may have done simular things for young girls that we don't know about. But maybe Lizzie liked boys more than girls.

When I was about three a woman kidnapped me at a department store. My mom saw it happen just in time. When I was about nine there was a neighbor lady who couldn't keep her eyes off of me. She gave my mom the creeps. A couple of years later I had to walk from school past a house where an American Indian woman lived. She was usually on her front porch sweeping the steps or standing behind the screen looking out. She would stop what she was doing and lock eyes on me until I was out of sight. She never showed any emotions in her face. She may have been a recluse, I never saw her in town. Too bad. She was about thirty and a knock-out. She gave me the creeps. It got to the point where I would be in a store or somewhere and I'd stop and look behind me to see if she were there staring at me. It could have been that she lost her own son and maybe saw some of him in me. A lot of children get kidnapped to replace a missing child.

Maybe Lizzie saw in that boy the son she herself never had. I have a strong feeling Lizzie was a softie deep down.

I would ask Lizzie if she was so miserable living with Abby all those years,
why didn't she marry the next man that showed interest in her?
Even if she didn't like men in that way at least she wouldn't be living
with Abby and frugal andrew anymore
