I finished all 759 pages last night! Great book, but I've been a fan of Harry P. since the 1st book.

So, did Harry live or die?

I won't tell you the outcome. Before I finished the book, someone told me that Harry joined a circus. I will not verify this possible outcome.

Hmmm... You mean I'm going to have to read the book to find out? All 759 pages!? That sounds like work.

I'm still working on the Donna Parker series of seven books. I love a good kid's book but only now and then. I'm engrossed in a pile of technical stock trading, calculus and algorithm books so a good kid's book help's lighten the brain cells a bit.
I have a feeling J.K. is not yet done with Harry Potter. In a few years, who knows.
P.S. Have you ever noticed that J.K. has a long nose? I've alway's liked the look of a long nose.

That is what I wanted to know. And of course typical me I could not wait so, I cheated and asked a kid that I know who had the book if I could, please, read the last chapter. I am so shameful sometimes

Didn't mean to make you blush, Harry. It was just such a great response to Steve's question.

Aw, he's cute.
If I do go, I want Winward's. I'm sending Alice downstairs right now to tell Dr. Bowen. Give her something to do while I change clothes.

Make sure you read the Harry Potter book before you are trucked off to Winward's. Nice of you to change (at least) your drawers, Harry.

Read all the Rowling "spoilers" from her webcast.
Actually, they seem to get predictable in old(er) age.

I know exactly what you mean, Pam. You get involved with a character and then it ends. I felt that way when I read "Gypsy and Me." I got engrossed with Gypsy Rose Lee's life, her ups and downs, likes and dislikes, fears and worries and then she dies and I felt like I had lost a friend that I had never met.
Books can be very powerful. They can pull you into a person's life and get you emotionally involved. You bond with the person and then before you are ready, it's all over.

I must confess that as soon as the book came out, I picked it off the shelf and peeked at the ending. (I won't tell, though.)

I grabbed a copy early Sunday after it came out and trotted off to Oak Grove under a tree with a picnic hamper. Quiet and nobody talks there! I have a favorite shade tree near Addie Churchill's grave. Yeah, I had to look at the epilogue too -I couldn't bear to find out while reading it that something bad could happen to all those characters I like. Count me in as a rampant Potter Head too- I even have McGonagal's hat and dress and cloak. My kids just DIE of embarassment-of course they are 27 and 32!

Whew! Finished my Library copy today! Immediately got in the car and returned it to the Library, in case a kid is waiting!

It's important, Shelley, that part of us never grows up. We have to stay young at heart.
