HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUSAN!!!!

Thank you all, actually my birthday was on Monday the 20th, but, I appreciate the warm wishes so much, any ol' day of the week! My birth day was a perfectly horrible, hateful, stress filled day. I won't bore you with the gory details, but, I actually yelled at a temp worker that we have with us at the moment. I went from zero to viscious shrew in like 2 seconds; I have never, ever yelled at anyone in all my years of working.

Anyway, I did have a wonderful birthday dinner surrounded by my fiance, my twin, and my friends. Despite my twin and I being given inflatable crowns and birthday boy and girl sashes to wear by our server, it was a lovely evening. Oooooooo, and we had my most favorite cake in the world from a local shop, its called Gianduia, it is to die for!!! Though I still don't know the proper pronunciation, I've been told its "Guy-un-do-ya" and "Gee-un-dwee-ya"? Anyone here know? Heres a link to see this lovely concoction, it is so decadent.

And we have a small group going to Disneyland this weekend, which is always a blast, with a dinner reservation at the Blue Bayou restaurant that is in the park. Thank you again for the birthday wishes!

Crockabeans, they don't deliver???!!!!! Oh well. (I did find a pie recipe though that's similar...might have to hinnnnnnnvestigate that!)

Susan, I gained 24 pounds six and three-quarter ounces just lookin' at that website!

Oh, Susan, that cake looks scrumptious! And the custards and puddings look out of this world. They're worth having a birthday for!

Thanks again for the wishes, gang. I assure you, every cake, pie, tart, etc. that I have tried at Extraordinary Desserts are all wonderful; I haven't had something that I didn't like yet! The cake slices usually go for like $7.00 to $8.00 dollars, so you (and I) can well imagine what a whole cake costs. The Guinduia cake slice comes surrounded by a puddle of tart berry sauce which goes so well with the heavy, sweet cake. And most of the desserts are usually served with edible flowers and sometimes gold leaf on top, well worth the price.

Sadly, little Miss Mia passed away in January of 2006.

She had a stroke & lost the use of one back leg. We took her to the vet & I discussed whether or not I should have her put to sleep. He had several Siamese of his own (perfect vet for her) & suggested I give her a chance to see if she would rally & adjust. However, two nights after she was home, she asked to get down off my lap (which was out of character) & in the middle of that night, I woke up to find she had quietly gone.

I still miss her; she was a sweet little thing.

Thanks, Tracy and Shelley. Shelley, how did you know I love rubies? I still have my late husband's greatgrandfather's ruby pinky ring, its an emerald cut set in an extremely simple gold ring. Its one of my favorite rings to wear outside of my engagement ring.

Yes, Kat, though technically I'm a Leo, I think I have alot of Virgo tendencies. As I usually tell people, I'm more of a housecat than a lioness. Though my twin brother, hes definitely more of a Leo, people are usually drawn to him and he does love the limelight.


Tina-Kate, I am soooooo sorry, I had no idea, I apologize. Open mouth, insert both feet at once.

Oh, I was always told the 23rd, being the cusp, inherits more of the characteristics of the sign ahead, than being the last day of the sign behind. And your writing seems more Virgoesque. I am a textbook Virgo, as is LeeAnn whose birthday is the day after mine. I adore rubies, garnets and amethysts and actually asked for that instead of an engagement diamond- I never liked diamonds- so cold and icy. But the husband said I had to have one or it would not seem like an engagement. Funny thing is, Victorians often gave amethysts, or other stones as engagement ring settings. My husband is not a Victorian, alas. He is firmly rooted in the 1940's WWII as his primary focus of interest in history. I lose all interest in history after 1912 and before 1860. I envy spouses who share the love of the same era - and same hobbies.

My husband is a double Virgo (deadly!) with sun and moon both in Virgo. I have a moon in Aries which makes me a little artsy, dramatic and liking to get things organized and running. My daughter, and dogs are- Virgos too. So, we are a house of serious, analytical, critical, nitpicky perfectionists.

I was raised by a bunch of Taureans & Virgoans...therefore I know whereof you speak. We had some Virgo pets too! My moon is in Virgo, & I have other planets in Taurus & Virgo as well. So, I am stubborn & opinionated. My sun in Gemini means I communicate that too, so I can be a big pain.

Almost forgot---traditionally, British engagement rings aren't diamonds. See Diana's & Fergie's rings for eg. Do not know if that is true these days, as English society has become very Americanized in the past 30 years or so.
