I reside in the small town of New Hyde Park about fifteen miles, as the crow flies, from downtown New York City. On this fateful day I was raking leaves off my front lawn when I observed a large plume of smoke on the western horizone across the river. I have seen smoke such as this from past fires in New York City, but nothing of this magnitude. I called to my wife who was indoors to come and witness this unusual sight. She was impressed and suggested we return indoors and try to discover what was happening on the TV news reports.

We were aghast to learn that this was not a natural diaster, but a cowardly attack from a militant foreign force. Three thousand people died as a result of this cowardly assault. Overseas in Irag this figure has been exceeded by the number of military deaths. Since this attack on our freedom, I have flown the flag dailyand will continue to do so in support of our armed forces until our soldiers return home.

Please pray for our brave citizens and soldiers, alive and deceased - "Everyone a hero."

Amen, may God protect us from future attacks and may we bear our scar to remind us that we will never forget.

The 9-11 attacks devastated anyone; my heart cries out for each and every victim as well as hero of this exceedingly ugly, inhumane, and appalling act. This day will forever be etched in my mind and I will always remember.

The "Tribute In Light" memorial, is in remembrance of the events of 9-11-2001, and in honor of the citizens who lost their lives in the WTC attacks.
