I went to Charleston, S.C. last week for almost a week.
Took the train. I got a newer coach car so the bathrooms were nicer.
I don't have many pictures, but will post a few.
I think I may have some from another trip up there- it hasn't changed that much.
If I post those I will let you know they are from a past trip.
THis is the view out back from the place I stayed.

Charleston has lots of carriage rides!
THis is just out the truck window stopped at a traffic light.

Thru the truck windshield- this past Saturday, about this time.

I was handed the keys to a "Loaner" vehicle to drive while I was there, if I wanted.
This is "Me & My Mercedes!"

The color of mine was deep blue tho. I actually wore a cashmere sweater and drove a Mercedes. I just told my neighbor that, here back home at the grocery store- and she cracked up! (She knows me)...

Now here's the train trip.
I'm having Deja- vu right now
Anyway, I'm of couse holding the camera myself so this is way too close of a close-up!

Sorry 'bout that!

Here's the train. It's 7 and 1/2 hours to/from Charleston- same amount of time as driving!
Very comfortable- but very air conditioned!

Great photos, Kat, thanks for sharing them. Charleston is so picturesque, I had forgotten, its been eons since I've been there last. Outside of the paved streets and cars, I can almost imagine men in top hats and ladies in hoop skirts walking the streets.

Wow, wish I was there!
Kat, every time I see a close picture of you or Stef, I marvel at your beautiful skin!

Thanks you guys and thanks TK particularly.
On my flight home from Providence in August I sat next to a beautician and she said the same thing. I guess I'm blessed.
Isn't Charleston Grand!

Wow, Those pictures are just great. I haven't visited that city since 1983. I'm glad you included a picture of Rainbow Row, that street with all the different colored houses was so different. I walked The Battery so many times taking pictures of those beautiful old homes. Thanks for sharing them. How long did it take you to get there by train?

It's 7 and 1/2 hours supposedly. The train can be about an hour late- losing time around Jacksonville.
To drive there from Orlando area is about 7 hours, so it's a toss up. The train is very comfortable, you can recline like in a lounger chair with your feet up- but bring your own food- theirs is very expensive!
