The West Memphis 3 is a case that I have been following for many years. It involves a horrible triple homicide from 1993. Three young men (all teens at the time) were convicted of the crimes in 1994 based on very questionable evidence, strong biases and misunderstandings. There has been a grass roots following since then of people (myself included) who believe that the 3 (still in prison, one on death row) are innocent.

There are some really astounding things happening these days with the case... some 14 years later. John Douglas and Michael Baden are involved. New theories (and possibly new evidence) have arisen. There should be news breaking nationally soon; it is already being stated in the West Memphis (Arkansas) area press. On November 1, there will be a press conference held in nearby Tennesee. It will be shown via webcast on the main website for supporters, wm3.org.

Anyone interested can find out alot on the internet... there is the main supporter site wm3.org that is being updated regularly.

I beleive the convictions of the WM3 was a terrible miscarriage of justice. I wrote to Damien Echols in prison, and he wrote back to me. He is a wonderful poet and in my opinion, an innocent man. May they all be released soon. Thanks for posting Terrie.

Thanks for the response :) I was hoping I hadn't posted something *beyond the pale*... I am a worrywort.

The case has been on Anderson Cooper and has fueled many current newspaper/newsmagazine articles... and will be much more in the media in the dyas/weeks/months to come.

I agree it is a terrible case of wrongful convictions, and it has been a bone of contention for many here (US) since it was originally tried. There are people in other countries (England, Holland, Australia) following it closely as well.


I hope that the truth will out in this complicated case.
