Wish I"d have thought to post this earlier, is anyone watching it? Luckily I can see it from my desk by just looking up! Too cold to stand outside tonight to watch, Won't be another one (full eclipse) till 2010.

I've been checking every 15 minutes since 9:15.
It''s still going on. Our clouds went away just in time.

The last one, Harry, Stef and myself enjoyed in Fall River, October (2004?) around the 7th inning of the Red Sox World Series!

It's been a day of big space events! The eclipse and The shuttle landed safely this morning and the military shot that falling satellite- tho they say they won't know until tomorrow if they destroyed the full fuel tank- which was the main objective.
They said on the local news that landing the shuttle today was a priority no matter what- because they really wanted a clear safe shot at the satellite.

Oh LIz hope you got to see it! It was starting when I posted about it. We have clear skies here and it was beautiful. Saturn was really bright on one side of it and Ragulus was shining bright on another side. I'm on the west side of Illinois so it should have been visible to you about the same time I was watching it. Kat, I wondered why the shuttle was coming back early, never even connected the two things. But I guess it's better safe then sorry!

Well, it wasn't exactly early- I only know that (I think I know that)- because there's already another shuttle on the pad!
But they did say that there was no chance hardly at all that they would not make the shuttle come home when it did. They said maybemaybemaybe it might have waited one more day if it had to, but they reallyreallyreally did not want to wait.
Since the weather was good they got lucky.
