I just saw the mini. It already had over 40 hits! It was great! Shelley, you were sooo good narrating - and without a script. You were perfect. And you know I really mean what I say. Your historical knowledge on Abby is amazing. I loved you re-enacting Abby's attack. Out of all the cable documentaries I've seen, I've never seen Abby's murder being re-enacted. It was riveting.

Richard, I thought the entire film from start to finish was very classy. The music was good! And I thought you displayed your text pieces very well. Jill Dalton was a good actress in her part. And it was great that you showed the view from the stairs of Abby lying on the floor.

It feels like this is already a classic. I would not be surprised if this got played in other Borden shows. And nothing beats Shelley's last line.

I know I'm gushing, but I'm excited over it. Ten out of ten, Richard.

Guys, I had to delete the video and repost, so the link will be broken for a bit.

The reason is that the opening title claimed the film was shot on Dec 28, 2008. Unless I had indeed stumbled across Bill and Ted's Most Excellent Time Travelling Phone Booth, I don't think that would be possible.

Rather than let it go and be a blooper, I figured I'd fix it before the video is blogged and hundreds of people start rushing at it.

Sorry for the down time and I hope to have it all back up and running by noon on Saturday.

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate the kind comments. I have always felt great compassion for Abby, having some similarities in my own life with step-parents and animosity from other step-relatives who resented me - so it was not a stretch to get an insight on Abby Borden. When I go to the graves every week, I see flowers for Lizzie frequently, but maybe twice in 16 years for Abby. The accused has eclipsed the victims.

I hope nobody was offended by that final line. I didn't realize the camera was still rolling, and there was no disrespect meant to Abby. It is a bit of dark humor I suppose! She was such a domestic homebody and house proud, I think she may not mind. Her last act was tidying the guestroom and thinking about dinner for her family.

Congratulations Richard, -I can't wait to see what you may tackle next in this endlessly fascinating topic, and the wonderfully unique way in which you stage and film these little vignettes of the past. Jill Dalton was superb in her understated performance on the stairs. I watched her face and hand movements, the intake of breath, the agitation without overacting- and she is a brilliant actress.
