A Florida woman says she heard something in her kitchen on Monday night, and it turned out to be an eight-foot alligator. (MyFoxTampaBay / Pinellas County Sheriff Office)

The story here:

OLDSMAR, Fla. – A Pinellas County woman says she heard a noise in her home late Monday night and when she went to check it out, she discovered there was an alligator in her kitchen.

Deputies say 69-year-old Sandra Frosti couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the gator's head on her kitchen floor at about 10:30 p.m. on Monday. They say she called 911 and then immediately got out of the house until help arrived at her home in the Eastlake Woodlands area.

Investigators say the eight-foot gator apparently pushed through the screen on Frosti's back porch, went inside the house, through an open sliding glass door, and made its way to through the living room and into the kitchen. A trapper was called in to help capture the gator, though deputies do say the gator was slightly hurt when a plate fell on it as they were trapping it.

No one else was hurt.

BTW: If it's alligator mating season, it's probably black-snake mating season, too! I should stop going barefoot for a while.

I've gotten really paranoid around here ever since a neighbor almost lost her foot by having a copperhead attach hmself to her toe when she was out in her yard raking. And a week ago another neighbor found a huge one in his driveway. Nasty, nasty creatures.

Oh really? Wow!
That poor lady was 69 years old! I would have fainted, but then be afraid for my 2 cats! So I guess I wouldn't have fainted, in order to save them!
