I recently bought a book by Angela Carter called Lizzie Borden, it's put out by Penguin Books.

The book contains 2 short stories, the second story ( The Fall River Axe Murders ) I have read before, from a book of short stories called the Black Cabinet.

The first story is called Lizzie's Tiger, has anyone read it yet? I have read about half of it. It takes place when Lizzie is a child living on Ferry Street and she wants to go to the Circus to see a Tiger.

Angela Carter had a different style of writing, I would call it Abstract.

To those who want, try this link to Angela Carter:

Also, yes I read that story "...Tiger"- because our Eugene read it and wrote about it in The Hatchet.
"The Cutting Room: Critical Notes on the Borden Legacy–Angela Carter Peers Through the Bars of Lizzie's Childhood by Eugene Hosey"- August 2006

Whew! That was some story!

I just read the rest of Lizzie's Tiger.

I wish I had read the whole thing before posting about it. It took a few turns that I sure didn't expect.

If the disgusting parts were edited out, if might be an alright story.

Maybe I'll edit my copy.
