Augusta, I'm not sure, but it was probably pretty chilly, being Jan. 8th. I do know an interesting weather fact pertaining to Elvis' early life. When he was just over one year old, one of the deadliest tornadoes in U.S. history (it was later determined to have been an F-5 on the Fujita scale) struck downtown Tupelo and the populous areas adjacent to it. More than 200 people were killed (April 5, 1936).
Elvis' mother, Gladys, thereafter believed that her son had been spared for some special reason. The Presleys lived outside of town.
The following morning, as part of the same weather system, another F-5 tornado struck downtown Gainesville, GA, and its adjacent populous areas, right after people had gone to work and children had gone to school. More than 200 people were killed there, too. That April 5th-6th weather system resulted in the deaths of more than 500 people in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina.
BTW: Graceland is well worth a visit!

Yes, thank you for your most interesting post on Elvis, DJ.

No, Mb, Elvis did not write his own music. I don't think he lip-synched, tho, like so many singers do today.
