Enough snow already!

I am seriously sick of winter. I'm done. Period. Unfortunately, winter is not done with me.
I was born in New England and have always said I could not and would not live anywhere else but in New England. But I can't stand it anymore. Enough! I can't take it.
I used to wonder why my parents used to get all worked up when we heard on the weather that it was going to storm and have snow or bad weather. I mean, c'mon, weren't they used to it already? I had no idea.
Now, my husband and I have always shared one car, it's cheaper, saves us money and we always worked within a 5 mile radius from the other & had similar hours so this was never an issue for us. But my husband just got a job after being laid off almost 6 months, which has been financially devastating, and started his new job.....today....in a freakin' Nor'Easter!!!!! We already had about a foot of snow this morning before he left, which was at 7:30am, and his new job is in Bridgeport....about 25 miles from here and normally about a 25 minute ride. He wasn't gone 20 minutes when he called-he spun out and did a 360 on Route 8 in Seymour, hit the jersey barrier and damaged the tail-light in the back passenger side of the car. Luckily he is safe and the car has minor, repairable damage....but c'mon!!!! It's an eye practice he works for and only about 2 people have been in all day and they couldn't close??????? My God!!!!
So needless to say, I am a wreck and now have to worry if he will make it home safely. Thank God we had studded snow tires on the car or God knows how much worse it could have been!!!
So I am seriously thinking about a change of venue here. I can not handle this snow and ice anymore!!!!
Anybody with me??????

I'm with you, I'm getting a little crazy. My husband had to be in for 3am, which meant by 9am I was out with the snowblower. Which stalled 1/2 way through & wouldn't start. I worked the weekend so I had yesterday & today off, otherwise I would have been driving in this blizzard also. I called my niece in TX & she told me it was about 60 degrees & told me I should move.
I'm just tired of cold, damp & wet. I'll feel like I'll lose about 50 pounds when I don't have to wear longjohns, hat, gloves, parka & winter boots. I never realized how the cold can make you so fatigued.
I'll even take 50 degrees at this point. Oh well, I guess I should be thankful, I'm not sick and I'm working.
(Just tired of the cold & snow)

We had quite a bit of snow over the weekend, but luckily it was over in time to drive to work today. What I'm really tired of is the frigid temperatures - 5 degrees this morning.

I'm really sorry you guys!
I can't imagine what you are going thru!

I did want a place to tell my sorry little story so I will tell it here where we are venting.

Last night it was 39 degrees but wind chill was about 30 and it was blowing like a gale!
So on the way home from work at 9:30 at night I got a flat tire. Luckilly it was in a parking lot at the grocery store and not while on the road. Luckilly too the guy in the supermarket knew how to change a tire- wanted to do it- was nice enough to do it. It took 45 minutes and when he was done I was frozen from standing in the wind watching him. My nose was leaking.

So I drove 3 miles on the spare and that went flat after a pothole. So I limped at 5 mph into an open gas station and called a tow. That took 2 hours. I didn't get home until 12:45 am, and barely had the cash to pay the tow. He wouldn't take a check, even tho we were standing right outside my house!
Knowing I needed another tow in the morning to the car place, I transferred some money to my credit card over the phone. Today I started the process of getting new front tires at 9:15 am. The tow truck was 2 hours late. It was still really really cold out. I got the car and me towed to the repair place, and went to pay him and the amount would not go thru. So we got on the phone and 30 minutes later it was approved- they finally forced it thru from the card end - I had replenished the coffers there and it finally showed up. So my car was released and 2 front tires and 2 tows and 3 hours last night and 5 hours today spent on this. Just on a flat! I was only 45 minutes late to work. I am blessed I had the money. I could have been walking home last night in that freezing cold dark.
It's scary to think of that!

Kat, I'm glad you got home safe. I would have been a nervous wreck by the time I got home.
Watch those potholes there real car wreckers. I hit one that put my front end out of alignment.

Thanks you guys! That's really sweet. I don't know why that had to happen when it was below freezing. Somehow the cold made it worse!

Today at work a young man I helped gave me his number and told me to absolutely call him if anything like that happened. So nice!

Kat, the same thing happened to me once on the way home from work, but luckily during the summer. And I was lucky on both flats to have a kind stranger help me out.
