Here's a mystery.

I have researched this issue on the web extensively but could not come up with a satisfactory answer......thought, there are countless solutions given. I am not sure they are the answer to my problem.

The problem is this........................

Many of my T-shirts have these little holes in them. They almost look like moth holes. They are always in the same place, in front of the shirt just below waist level. Sometimes they are on the right, sometimes on the left and other times the middle.

I have a great number of shirts with those holes, alway in the same area.

Some shirts I have worn only 2 or 3 times and are still like new........ except for the little hole.

WHERE ARE THESE HOLES COMING FROM?

You're probably tearing through them with all that manly hair on your chest.

Can't be......I shaved.

What brand do you wear? Are the holes there when you buy them? Maybe it's cheap fabric. Look them over real good before and after you put them on and before and after you wash them. Hold them up to the light and see if you can spot thin spots developing.

JC Penny has a very good quality T-Shirt that my friends have been wearing and they are very happy with it.

Check the back of the "rivet" where you button your jeans. Is it possible there is a small burr on it or it was scratched & has a rough edge?

do you tuck the T shirts in?

If you google "hole in my t shirt" you will find countless sites of people trying to find an answer. This has been happening to me for 25 years or so. (as far as I remember.)

Some of the suggestions and solutions everyone mentioned has come up before.

You know 1bigsteve. I wear all different brands. Good point. I'll need to check them and see if it is only one brand.

Yes, Kash...........you know, I grew up with my parents always telling me to "tuck in you shirt young man". So, I have always tucked my shirt in. Until I was about 40 when my mid section took over. So, I have not tucked it in for many years now. The other problem now is, that not tucking my shirt in does not help anymore. Now I look like one of those pregnant gals in a maternity shirt.

Working around batteries can put holes in shirts.

MB, give JC Penny's T's a try. They come in Tall and Extra-Tall too so you can tuck them in (no sense in showing that belly button lint ). I can't wear them because I can't find them in XXXXXXLT but for others they are a dream. The fabric is thick 100% cotton, about three times thicker than Hanes. I think they only go up to XXL though. They are expensive but worth it. My dad loves them and has never had a hole problem.

Hanes makes a pretty good t-shirt. JC Penny must make a terrific shirt if it is thicker than a Hanes. I'll look into it. (sorry Charlie Sheen.)

Funny. When I was a kid I always wore collared button up shirts. Now I almost always wear t-shirts. Even for some semi-formal events I will wear a fruit of the Loom with my 150 dollar tweed.
