Each time I visit Fall River, I enjoy looking around the city and figuring out which buildings and houses were there in 1892. I carry Len's book with me everywhere I go! I was curious if anyone has ever made a map of the buildings that still stand today that were there on August 4, 1892. That would be a fun project, and I certainly would be the first to purchase such a map. The "Academy" building and, of course, the AJ Borden Building were standing at that time, but sadly buildings such as Smith's Apothecary are gone. If anyone has any information (or a list) of the buildings still standing, I certainly could use it the next time I am in Fall River (August 2010). Thank you.

Hi Joe, I'm with you, I'm also interested in what buildings are still standing. I wouldn't mind going on a walk all through downtown. Also bringing a camera to take any photos that would be interesting.
I know I've seen a map of the Second Street area (I took a copy so I could keep it handy while reading any testimony concerning any of the streets nearby, or when someone talks about where they were) and I think it was in one of the back issues of The Hatchet.
Shelley had posted quite a few pictures around Fall River on this forum. She's unbelievable with that camera of hers., she always does a great job.
