I was reading in my book called Secrets of Ancient and Sacred Places, that the key stones in ancient stone circles were often granite, and had magnetic properties- even uranium- and gave off radiation.

The ancients may have had a way to identify this and give these stones extra prominence. These qualities seem to interfere with or enhance brain waves, and those who sought visions would sleep on these stones.

The book noted that in underground or enclosed areas where this radiation can collect -build up- the effects are intensified.

Well, Fall River is built on granite and the Borden's had a celler that was partly underground, and I was wondering if there was a chance of Lizzie or Bridget being effected by all this- either knowingly or unknowingly.

Has anyone heard of this? Does it seem feasible that the actual effects of the granite on susceptible individuals might cause some unusual behaviour?

This was the first I've heard of the project, but the first thing to come to mind is that Lizzie and Bridget were no more exposed to granite than other residents of Fall River with similar basements, and there were probably quite a few. The basis for the Borden house conjecture generalizes to this by definition. Variables are time of exposure, amount of radiation, and lasting effects when no longer exposed to granite.

Well, reading about it can cause some unusual posts.

Well if that was the case then everyone from Fall River should be crazy as a bed bug. The mills and churches were mostly built with granite.

Well, after all, they did acquit Lizzie!

You have a point there, Steve. I wonder how much granite they have in New Bedford?

New Bedford's granite is way worse then Fall Rivers. ROFL!

Well, it's a good point that others would be affected as well, but maybe they were. Again, tho, those susceptible showing more signs. Also, I can picture more privacy down there- maybe a young Lizzie claiming some space for her own.

We went quite a ways with that speculation along similar lines.
There are folks in the desert areas of the U.S. now who are sensitive to a strange humming noise that is driving them crazy, but only a small population can "hear" it. Those who cannot sense it, think it doesn't exist.

Did the test subjects manifest erratic behavior as a result of exposure to granite or were the effects limited to their awareness? Was there anything about the percentage of test subjects affected by the radiation? Did those affected only exhibit shifts in awareness/behavior when in close proximity to the granite? Is the radiation referred to measurable in some way or otherwise identifiable?

I guess I would want to know more about how the experiment was conducted. Otherwise, what we can conclude might be that some small percentage of a given population say they are affected in some way by an immeasurable and unidentifiable form of radiation.

If you Google that maybe you will be able to find what they are up to and what their developing theories are.

It is an interesting theory. The New England coastal towns seem to have these granite cellars. My grandparents house did and I used to love the "feel" of it. Strangely it smelled like fresh cedar and there was no cedar anywhere in the cellar. This idea also reminds me of the movie Picnic At Hanging Rock.
