I have no clew as to why Lizzie seemed to love Scotland, and perhaps Emma did too.
Were they part Scottish?

Wasn't the post card that the FRHS has in its possession sent from Scotland by Emma to Mary Brigham?
Obviously Lizzie loved Scottish literature, given the names she gave to her dogs, as well as the famous quote carved into the Maplecroft mantlepiece.

Thanks, Harry! Now, if we could harness these great minds to come up with the winning lottery numbers, then we could buy Maplecroft!

I just went to a Scottish Festival recently and saw the name of Borden under a clan represented - lamont. Here's the page and they have Lizzie's name listed.
