I don't know where my fellow Custer buff (augusta) has been lately, but thought this may be of interest to others:

I keep getting an error message when trying that URL. Tried several different browsers with same result. The Art Daily site seems to be having problems.
Did use Google to get to Art Daily Custer and saw an article on the suction of Custer's flag at

Works for me now too.
The item really belongs in a museum not in a private collection.
Thanks for posting this Cindy.

Yes, it's beyond me why this isn't displayed at the Little Bighorn battlefield site.

I agree, it really should be displayed at the Little Bighorn Battlefield site.
Thanks for posting these links, Cindy and Harry.

Ran across this free site on the court martial of Custer.

You better be good at reading hand writing though.

It's truly amazing to be able to look at that flag, oh what stories it could tell!! It just goes to show that things like that could be hidden away regarding our Lizzie!!

Each time I see the Comanche exhibit at KU's Natural History Museum, I try to imagine what he witnessed.

Well darn! I tried to get into that site, but the pictures wouldn't load for some reason! I'll try it again later. I had heard that there was a horse that had survived, but wasn't sure. Disney had a movie about a horse that had survived a battle back in the 60"s I believe, Sal Mineo played the indian who cared for him. Thanks for posting that!
