She has enough Lizzie about her (I won't say "in her"!) to pull it off; furthermore, she's obviously interested in the subject.
HBO is splintered into multiple channels, so who knows on which one this will air? I noticed, Harry, that when "Boardwalk" premiered, the cable service "teased" the HBO channel on which it airs, free, for about three weeks, in a blatant effort to hook new subscribers. So, if you have cable service, look for the same when this airs, but that looks like a good ways off, still.
Also, it will surely appear on DVD, at the end of the season.

What wonderful news! I ALWAYS knew HBO would come through! And, in a mini-series, so much more of the story can be told! Bravo!

The more I think about it, I realize how much happier I'd be with Claire Danes, who won an Emmy as the real-life autistic animal specialist Temple Grandin, as Lizzie. She's a red-head. I can see her approximating the far-away look we all know so well. She's an accomplished actress - I saw her stage debut, as Eliza Dolittle in PYGMALION, and you'd've thought she'd been onstage all her life - AND she's 32!

I concur that Claire Danes would be a good choice, Bob. She still has that "little girl in a woman's body" quality, the eyes are most expressive, and she's talented.
I'm still holding out for Elisabeth Moss ("Peggy" on "Mad Men") to play Lizzie, sooner than later, in some venue-- she would be stupendous. Is there anyone on the Forum who watches "Mad Men"? What think you?
Anyway, I just hope this is a well-written, well-cast, well-produced movie.
If you think about it, it would be easy enough for the Story of Lizzie to become campy.
It's much to the credit of those involved with the Liz Montgomery version that it holds up so well. However, it does border on campy during the murder scenes, when Liz?Lizzie is supposedly nude and addressing her victims before she whacks them.

I like her very much, also...she's been one of my favorite actresses for years. Very talented.

It's new to me. Thanks, hyacinth.
Wow, that's creative casting! Gary Busey as Andrew?
He's the disruptive guy on Trump's Celebrity Apprentice show, right? Seen that for the first time this week.
