Who do you think will win from this series?

How about those Habs ? They win 2 games straight and then they lose the next 2 games. Maybe they will bring Guy Lafleur out of retirement for the rest of the series.

Boston wins another game and leads the series 3-2. Off to game 6 in Montreal on Tuesday night.

The Habs tie up the series at 3-3 forcing a game 7 wednesday night, for the final showdown.

With a score or 3 - 2 for Boston in the 3rd period, Montreal ties the game sending it into overtime. Boston scores the winning goal in overtime winning the series and sending the Habs back home for the rest of the season. Boston will go on to play Philadelphia in the next series.

Hockey has a limited following in the US. Baseball, Football, Basketball being the big three. Much of this has to do with cold climate, thus the reason your best players come from countries up north on this continent and Europe.

It's very rare to hear patrons at a restaurant talking about hockey, Even here in New England. Unless you live in one of the team cities like Boston, Chicago, Pittsburg, etc., where the games are played, not much is mentioned about the sport, hockey.

But don't feel bad. When I speak about Lizzie Borden on this forum, I get the same silence. Now that is bad.

I used to follow hockey until KC did away with our pro team, the Blades, about ten years ago. We're considered a football town and of course, college basketball is very popular with the Univ. of KS thirty minutes down the road. I went to quite a few Blades games and even had a friend that got married at one. I think KC is trying to get a NHL team because a new arena was built a couple years ago, partly for that reason.

It might be better as we get towards the final series.

When I was a kid I used to watch my uncle get down in front of the TV, pound his fists on the floor and yell and swear, if someone on the team he liked messed up.

I am hoping it will be Boston and Vancouver in the finals.

That way it will be between my New England heritage and the big city of my home province. Either way I win.

Looks like your wish came true, Fargo. Can you believe last night's game was penalty free? The Canucks need to match that kind of discipline and stay out of the box in the finals or the Sedins won't have enough ice time to make an impact. Can't wait till Wednesday!

That is exactly what I was going to say that I got my wish.
I was listening to the final game between Tampa Bay and Boston on the radio while I was at work.

Game 1 of the finals was a tight game, it was scoreless until the last 19 seconds of the 3rd period, when Vancouver scored the only goal of the game, then winning game 1

The first part of game 2 was in Vancouver's favor, but when Boston got a power play things began to change. Although Boston never scored during the power play, when Vancouver got back to full strength they didn't seem to be playing any better than they were with 1 man down.

Boston scored and tied the game then scored again to lead 2 - 1 Then Vancouver tied the game and it went into overtime. Vancouver scored in overtime winning game 2

When Chicago came back from losing 3 games straight to winning 3 games straight taking the series to game 7, it really had me wondering if they might be making hockey history.

I know it has only happened very few times before in the history of the League that a team has done that and come back to win the series. It was close but it was not to be.

Game 3 is tonight at 5 pm my time.

I slept in and missed the game but my friend told me it was a slaughter. Boston won their first game of the final series on home ice with a score of 8-1 against Vancouver. Game 4 is on Wednesday in Boston.

Boston wins game 4 at home, with a score of 4 - 0 over Vancouver. The Series is now tied at 2 - 2. Game 5 is on Friday in Vancouver.

They are Playing 4 out of 7...........(?) I thought it was all over. Silly me. Not a sports fan, unless its "Axe in the head throwing."

Well my computer was in the shop for its annual refit and then I went up to the lake for awhile. I was up country during game 6 and game 7. With the series tied at 3 - 3 game 7 was in vancouver. Boston won game 7 with a score of 4 - 0 Then unfortunatley a riot broke out in Vancouver.

The same thing happened in 1994 when the final series went to game 7 with the New York Rangers winning the Stanley Cup. There was a riot in Vancouver then too. I really didn't think there was much danger of it happening again, I figured that the people in Vancouver would have learned a leason from the first riot.

I think what happens sometimes is you a few people to get it started and then you get people joining in that normally would never do something like that, they see other people doing it and they get caught up in the moment.

When Vancouver went to the finals for the first time in 1982 they lost 4 games straight, losing the series to the New York Islanders, that time there was no riot, everything was fine.

This time Boston won the Stanley cup for the first time in 39 years. Vancouver won 3 games in a best out of 7 series winning as many games as they could without winning the series. Most of the fans are probably happy they got as far as they did. During many seasons they get knocked out in the first or second round this is only the third time they have ever come this far.

On the way to the lake I was listening to a boston fan on tbe radio, she said that there is more Canadian players on the Boston Bruins than there are on the Vancouver Canucks. That was why she is a Boston Bruins fan.

For Vancouver it might be more dissapointing because they have not won the Stanley cup since 1915 when they had the vancouver millionaires hockey team. Also the well known Stanley park in Vancouver is named after the same person the Stanley cup is named after, Lord Stanley.

For Boston 39 years is a long time as well, so there must be some happy people in Boston
