Thanks for posting that Tracie.
Yes: How about that face. It is one only a mother or a Borden could love.
Suppose it happens to all of us.
Bridget was never an attractive woman, but then again, when I go out the door most of the neighborhood cats run up the trees to get away from mine.
But, all Kidding aside.
These photos have sat in my picture file for the last couple of years. They were going to be released by the Hatchet well over a year ago until unforeseen circumstances and commitments temporarily derailed the publication.
It should have been still another HATHET first. Unfortunately we dropped the ball and someone else had the fortune of revealing them.
I've been studying that face for a while now. Not one that has experienced a life of leisure, but a great discovery none-the-less.

Yes:
Just in case you have trouble downloading Tracie's site of the Herald above, I've posted the mondo site below. You should click on Tracie's link of the Herald above to get the story, though.
You can go to
http://mondolizzie.com/MondoLizzie/ for a large size of the photos of Bridget and her husband Mr. Sullivan taken from the HATCHET'S files.
Bridget married a Sullivan, so her name never changed.

Below is the Herald news photo of the beautiful Lee Ann at the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast displaying the photos
Also below is a "closer" look at the churlish face of Bridget Sullivan.

The pictures have sat in the photo file for a couple of years?

Yes Yooper:
Stefani Koorey, editor of the Hatchet had been in contact with Bridget"s family and the family of her husband, John Sullivan, since 2008 and 2010, at which time these photos were sent to her by both sides of family members. The story and photo's were going into one of the upcoming HATCHET issues. Plans had even been made to visit Montana for a "one on one interview" with Bridgets relatives. Then " SURPRISE". There they were in the hands of the Bed and Breakfast.
What gave me the bragging rights of stating that they were in my picture file is that I was assisting Stefani with the story and she had sent me both photos. The one of Bridget by the fence and the one with her husband John. Thus, they have been sitting in my picture file for a long while. There's a lot more to it than what I am telling you, but that will be left for an upcoming article in the Hatchet.

Thanks for all the updates on these pictures. It was fascinating to see them, and I have always described Bridget in my mind as having pinched lips for some reason and they seem to be the same in the pictures.
I wish Stephanie had done the article for the Hatchet before all this came out. Patience is a virtue they say, and I am lacking in the virtue department. Hope we can know soon when the article will appear in an upcoming Hatchet.

Love those pictures. I always wondered what she looked like in later years. She was kind of homely looking in her younger years and I guess that age didn't do her any favors in the looks department. I can't complain. I'm not exactly looking like Rachal Hunter. Wonder what I am going to look like when I get old.

So apparently we DO know where our Bridget ended up, who she married, and if she had any children. It was always so uncertain before from what I remember.

Almost looks like a man in drag.

Bridget may have been plain in later life, but the photo taken at the time of the trial shows a very pretty girl. Maybe the bad experiences vis-a-vis the trial soured her life and had an impact on her facial expression.
Incidentally, I've read Radin's book and don't for a moment believe she committed the murders. She had no motive - apart from being sent out to wash windows on a boiling hot day when she was feeling lousy - and Mrs Borden was hardly a harsh employer.

I think she was always a plain jane. Nothing really to look at. But I think that the experience at the Borden house took it's toll on her.
