After promising everyone of the Hatchet"s release in the past, and not able to follow through, due to unforeseen circumstances, I am happy to announce that it has finally arrived.

With the ample subscribers who read the magazine, we usually get very little feedback on it's content.

Once again the Hatchet has published a FIRST with the actual Fleet notes where "Fleet Speaks" through his own hand written notes—and the first time ever published photos of Bridget Sullivan in a periodical or book.

THE HATCHET always inspires me to delve back into the case and this issue was worth the wait.

Absolutely loved Harry’s history snippets ... so illuminating.

Being a bit of a bibliophile, Michael Brimbeau’s article on book collecting was a treat. Chances of getting a ‘salesman’s copy of Porter’s Fall River Tragedy seem extremely slim so I’m very glad Robert Flynn saw fit to include that rare photo of Andrew Borden in his 1985 reprint.

Sherry Chapman definitely had me going. Nice one!

I have to assume Denise Noe never sleeps. Her output is prodigious, meticulously researched, and always worth a read.

There can never be enough digging into the Bridget Sullivan mystery so kudos to Stefani and Harry for their finds. (That quote about Knowlton saying her preliminary hearing testimony was “almost identical” to her inquest may be true but always makes me think about how radically Bridget’s testimony altered between inquest and trial. Initially the maid claimed “Lizzie did all she could for [Mrs. Borden]”,told how the family always ate together, and said Lizzie cried the morning of the murders – but later Miss Sullivan changed her tune and said no one tended Abby when she was sick, neither of the sisters came to the table with their parents, and stoutly denied she saw Lizzie crying [even though the court stenographer reads out Bridget’s previous inquest testimony saying she did.])

Fleet’s handwritten notes were worth the price of admission for me!

I know I haven’t mentioned all the contributors but please know that I enjoyed every piece in this issue.
