Does anyone know who this was?

Amanda E Borden Hodgate
I am emailing a person who said that this person ^^ was an aunt by marriage (to the letter writer). Also, this Amanda E Borden Hodgate had an aunt Amanda who supposedly lived with the Bordens during the time of the murders.

I don't remember anyone by that name living there or in that town.
I don't know if any of this is true or not. I know I posted a question on another Lizzie site to a couple of people but the person emailing me isn't either of those.

A little more information:
There was an Amanda that lived in the Borden house (her picture was hanging in the billiard room) who married George Hill so her name was Amanda C Borden Hill.
I haven't looked into it but I don't remember an Amanda living in the Borden house or in the town with that name.

She surely wasn't living at 92 Second anytime near the murders. That is too big a thing to have slipped through the cracks for all these years. So many people have done so much in searching census records and I don't recall this name.
I just did a heavy edit. I had mentioned a Grein in Billings, MT but was able to find his biography and he was born in Germany. NO connexion to Fall River.

Thanks, Irina!
I asked Jess to join us here if she wants. She and I have been discussing things since this morning.

I did see that. Did you note that Winston Churchill is a relative and so is Marilyn Monroe.

The Bordens and other old families like the Tripps seem to be interlinked through the generations to an extraordinary degree, don't they? Alice Russell was related to a dozen of these families too. Agree, Amanda wasn't there at no. 92 at the time. Hogden actually rings a bell with me but I don't know where I've read it, somewhere among the dozens of cousins of the Bordens, I suppose.

I didn't think she was. I want to research Lizzie and possibly, Emma after the trial to see what they were like. I didn't realize that there was already a book out

but maybe I'll write my own one day (provided I find enough and people to talk with).

Oh, my gosh! With apologies to any Republicans, oh you poor, poor thing! Perhaps a bit of amnesia or brain bleach would help?

Part of me is related to the tsars of Russia. Humorously, without subscribing to an ancestry thing, the only family looking for any part of my traditionally Catholic or Orthodox family is a Russian Jewish family. That is news to me. Looks like part of the family was probably running away from the tsars.

Does this help any?--
That's from Oak Grove Cemetary
"Parents:
Isaac Hathaway Borden (1829 - 1899)
Louisa Camilla Burne Borden (1833 - 1893)
Spouse:
Charles Hodgate (1852 - 1934)*
Children:
Minnie L Hodgate Pickering (1878 - 1945)*
Elizabeth C. Hodgate (1884 - 1943)*
Charles Hodgate (1888 - 1954)*
Siblings:
Amanda E. Borden Hodgate (1852 - 1927)
George E. Borden (1855 - 1936)*
Ernest Borden (1861 - 1861)*
Sydney H. Borden (1874 - 1951)*"
Also, has the possibility that she was living at the
other Andrew Borden's at the time of our Andrew's murder been accounted for?

There was no billiard room at the Borden house at the time of the murders. Is there one at the B and B today? She may have lived at the Borden house later on, though I can't imagine it as the Hodgates seem prosperous. I agree with taosjohn, she might be a connection to the other Andrew Borden, though I have heard of the Hodgates somewhere!

Thank you to Taosjohn and Curryong. Perhaps it is supposed to be a billiard room at Maplecroft? I do remember checking that fact and reading it somewhere...

Our Andrew's father, Abraham, was the son of Richard Borden jnr (sounds like his father was also a Richard) and his wife Martha Patty Borden. Abraham was born in 1798 and Isaac in 1829 so they can't have been brothers or anything, although you never know! All the Bordens of Fall River had a common ancestor, Richard Borden, but Isaac may be another branch. (Richard and Patty had nine children.)
Peculiarly, both Andrew and Abby's fathers' first wives were years older than their husbands. Phoebe, Abraham's wife was born in 1789, nine years before Abraham. Oliver Gray, Abby's father, married Sarah Sawyer in 1819, when he was 18 and Sarah was 25!

I do remember it seemed like some of the women were older than their husbands! I need to research Andrew J Borden's line. So, Abraham was his father? Whose wife was Martha Patty Borden- Abraham or Richard Jr.?

Martha (who seems to have been known as Patty) was the wife of Richard Borden jnr. They were Abraham Borden's parents and our Andrew J Borden's grandparents.

Got it, I think. I had been poking into Andrew Borden but now, I'm fascinated with Bridget...

That is awesome. Cheney is a great man. Too bad he wasn't running foreign policy the last 6 years, we wouldn't have been humiliated in the Crimea, the Ukraine, Syria, by ISIS...and violent criminal rioters in Missouri wouldn't get attaboys from the POTUS about their "justifiable anger."
Cheney had no charm, but he was a very competent leader. Look at his resume.

RGJ, why oh why do you have this compulsion to inject your politics into sites which are not political?
(This is the second time he has done this on a site I also belong to. The other one has been considerably less civil for it...)
