So, no doubt done to death, but I'd like to see current opinions. this is the classic "If there was a gun to your head"...gotta pick one, no weaseling :-)

Can't get away from the fact she got the worst of it. I don't have a clear idea of who it was.

Please, members who call in to view the Forum, even if you do so only occasionally, post your vote! We should get a clear view if you do.

If I understand well, there is only one conjecture that is universally accepted: Abby and Andrew were killed by the only and the same person.

It's true that Abby received more blows than Andrew, but I don't think Andrew was attacked less violently than Abby, judging by his injuries. And then, we should consider that if the killer was an intruder, he must escape as quickly as possible after killing Andrew.

So the quantitative difference of the blows received by the two victims doesn't matter to me very much.

It seems to be the case of only one accepted killer, Franz. Two killers in in a small house all in one morning would be just too much!

Maybe Andrew killed Abby and someone killed him? He could have snuck back inside...

Who would have killed Andrew? Lizzie certainly wouldn't have. She would have been delighted to have no more Abby and to be in charge of domestic arrangements at no. 92.

I was just teasing you, Franz! Nothing is certain about that morning except 2 died.

But it's true. Someone considered the possibility that Lizzie killed Abby and Andrew was killed by an accomplice of her.

If you think about everything that happened that morning it all points back to Lizzie as being the killer..What really convinced me was how she had no fear to be left alone while Bridget went to get help to me that just speaks volumes towards her guilt.

Bridget either had no fear to leave Lizzie alone; Mrs. Churchill either had no fear to leave Lizzie alone.

I don't think that we know that-- she may have been terrified but saw no better course...

This isn't the forum to debate this, but, saw no better course than toddling over to Phoebe Bowen, and her father Mr Miller, to Mrs Churchill's, to Alice's? I've said it before, but with a homicidal burglar on the loose I'd have been out of there in a flash, probably to the Bowens, taking Bridget with me!

I Vote for Double Murderers - Andrew and John:

Abby and John had been carrying on a secret affair for years. Lizzie ratted on them earlier that morning to keep Andrew from handing over any more real estate to Abby. Andrew doubled back shortly after leaving and attacked Abby in the guestroom. John arrived home ten minutes earlier than he testified. He found Abby's body while Andrew was upstairs. John hid in the front closet until Andrew was asleep and Lizzie and Bridget were out of the way; then he murdered Andrew and crept back outside to hide in the barn until a crowd gathered. Bridget wasn't taking a nap; she was up in her room enjoying a nice a shot of cheap whiskey on ice. And Lizzie was nowhere near the barn. She was upstairs opening Andrew's safe to see what he'd brought home and locked up. Lizzie had known the combination since she was eleven and spying through the keyhole from what was then Emma's room. John cleaned the hatchet and mailed it to himself, wrapped in dirty underwear, in Iowa.

Or-- Emma was in Fairhaven channeling her mother with a medium and she (one of the ghosts who allegedly haunt the house today) manifested as poltergeists and did it-- taking the weapon with her into the dark unknown. She also controlled the actions of her brother that day... VERY specifically, as to provide him an alibi.

Lizzie was in her room taking selfies with a Folding Rochester Camera she shoplifted downtown and Bridget was pouring over a map of Montana in her room.... She closed her eyes and pointed to 'Butte' and knew fate had spoken.
