I happened to stumbled upon the following article when doing some research...
The Herald News, Aug. 19, 2015:
A rare photograph of Maplecroft that dates to 1899 is shedding light on how the house looked when its most famous resident lived within its walls.
The photograph of Maplecroft, the earliest known photo of the house, appeared in the former New York Herald on Jan. 15, 1899, along with a story about Lizzie being the “same quiet, unassuming person.”
The newspaper also included an unfortunate portrait sketch of Lizzie and another sketch of her getting into a horse-drawn carriage.
The newspaper was found in a New York city bookstore around 1990 by Leonard Rebello, author of “Lizzie Borden: Past & Present,” and the new assistant curator of Maplecroft.
