Quick question; Officer Doherty Aug 4

Ok. I know things can get a bit muddled because from the day of the murders up until the trial certain police officers were promoted. Here's my question / aka where I've managed to confuse myself: Aug 4 I have an Officer Doherty at the house. A few days later, an Inspector Doherty shows up. Have I crossed ways in my research? Or are these 2 different men? I get this isn't interesting, but the devil is in the details and I get stuck on the smallest of them. Thanks for any help!

In addition to Officer Doherty and Inspector Doherty, there was also Patrolmen Doherty and Captain Doherty. So, it is no wonder that we are confused here. According to Kat’s post on January 30, 2007, in the thread titled,
Crowe's Roof Hatchet, these are all the same man.

Hey again, Twins! That was very helpful. Thanks! What a mess it is trying to keep everyone lined out! I think I noticed another confusion I had about Fleet from Aug 4 to around the time of the arrest a week later, so I might as well toss that out now. Was he Assistant Marshal Fleet through this whole ordeal, or promoted partway through?

Cleared up the Fleet thing. I was thinking back to the day light robbery. One less question!

I'm glad you found the answer to your question, LABR. During my research on Fleet, I found two articles which you may find interesting. Both articles were written by Stefani, our forum moderator; here are the links:
