Does anyone know why Nance gave Lizbeth a copy of The Poems of Thomas Bailey Aldrich signing it Daphne? Was it a role she portrayed?

We will probably never know the exact reason why Nance gave Lizbeth a copy of The Poems of Thomas Baily Aldrich. I can only speculate that the reason was most likely because Lizbeth loved poetry. Since a poem is the fundamental unit of poetry, it seems to me that a book of poems would have been an ideal gift for a friend to give to Lizbeth.
I donβt know if Daphne was a role that Nance played or not. However, I did post some information on the name 'Daphane' in the thread titled,
Nicknames w Nance? Here is the link to that thread:

Thank you, Twins

I was able to track the book of poetry as possibly related to Judith of Bethulia, a play Nance was in, but the Daphne aspect is still a mystery! Maybe Ill find something in the link you shared. Thanks, per usual

For some reason the link isn't working, at least not for me. Can you repost, or redirect me, Twins?

I retried the first link this morning and it worked this time! Guess we can chalk it up to yet another mystery in the Borden murder case!
