I was reading Adelaide Churchill's inquest testimony and she stated that when she first arrived at the the Borden house after the murders and saw Lizzie, Lizzie stated that Mrs. Borden had been killed too. Perhaps I'm not understanding her testimony, but this suggests that Lizzie knew her stepmother was already dead and contradicts her statements that she thought her stepmother had gone out after receiving a note regarding a sick friend.

mlm, you are correct that lizzie expressed worry that something "might have" happened to Abby and would someone find her. While not a direct contradiction of other statements, it is one of numerous dents in the case for Lizzie innocence.
