I found this cartoon in this week's New Yorker. The caption reads: "'Screaming Shrubbery,' by Third Rail Dance, at the Merce Cunningham Studio."
The accompanying blurb reads:
Third Rail Dance's pastiche of murder and jazz is like a round of Clue deconstructed by acerbic drama students. A French maid lasciviously twirls a feather duster, midgets hide under a baroness's cape, shrubbery comes to life, and a pale heroine performs a duet with an axe. A spastic butler narrates the action, and dancers speak lines and sing original songs by Russ Kaplan.
...change a few details, and it would sound like "our girl!"

Well, of course Audrey was only dressed as a French maid- Ooo-La-La! And Susan is the pale heroine, and the butler who narrates (who is not spastic) is of course FairhavenGuy.
Uh, I forget who I thought might be cast as the rest...;-)

As a former member of The Spouters, The Village Players, and Your Theater, I"m honored to be cast as the narrator. (I was once the narrator in A Thurber Carnival, in which I also performed the monologue "The Night the Bed Fell on Father.")

Now about those midgets. . .

Please say I can be a bit of shrubbery! (Something medicinal that might be used as a tonic--or antidote. . .)

I want you all to know that I do employ a French Maid. I am as lazy as sin and need all the help I can get...

I am also an equal opportunity employer, therefore I do not employ Fifi, I employ Jean-Paul.

Here he is posing with some of the tools of his trade....

And Susan is the pale heroine
 You've got that right, Kat! Ugh, it has been raining here nonstop since before the New Year. I feel like we will never see the California sun again. I suppose it could be worse, it could be nothing but snow instead!
