This article contains a story of a young French girl (No, it's not Audrey) who in 1933, poisoned her father and mother.

There are some similarities to the Borden case and I had read somewhere that one writer called her the "French Lizzie Borden".

Poor Violette....

She thought her beauty and charms would get her out of it...

I loved the part of the article about French justice being slow... It's true.

I think it is especially true today.

Detectives, like everyone else are legally restricted to a 35 hour work week. I imagine if they have a lot of cases they can not devote much time to any of them. All sorts of crimes go unsolved.

And then of course-- there is the tendency of the French to stop whatever they are doing if they feel like a glass of wine and a nap.
