So I get this blog alert that someone has been talking about Lizzie Borden on the Internets and I am intrigued because of the headline.
Hmmm. Lizzie Borden whacks her father, step mother? That’s not right. She was acquitted. The source appears to be ProJo, which is the Providence Journal.
So I click on the link and see that the actual headline for the story is not the same thing.
A misprint by the alert service? Not likely. What is more than reasonable to assume is that the journalist who posted the original Today in History item first posted it using the incorrect headline. It was recorded by the google bot that created the alert.
So, even in Providence, some 15 minutes from Fall River, they still get the story messed up some times. Funny story, huh?
